Q 드라마나 영화 쪽 편집자 취업
저는 방송 프로그램 외주 종편실에서 2년 정도 근무하다가 퇴사 후 이직 준비를 하였고
곧 유튜브 콘텐츠를 중심으로 하는 제작사로 첫 출근을 합니다.
후에 드라마나 영화 쪽 편집자로 일을 하고 싶습니다.
방송국이나 제작사에서 일한 경험이 없어서 연출이 편집까지 하게 되는지
연출 감독 편집이 다 따로따로인지 아니면 외주인지 지식이 없습니다.
이직을 유튜브 콘텐츠 쪽으로 한 것은 마음을 확실하게 정하지 못했을 때였고
에펙 쪽으로 부족한 것 같아 좀 더 많은 스킬을 배우고 사용해 보고 싶은 이유였습니다.
이번 이직이 나중에 드라마, 영화 쪽으로 도움이 될지
아니면 다른 연출이나 감독 업무를 중점으로 준비해야 할지
선배님들과 경력자 현역 분들의 조언을 듣고 싶습니다.

I don`t know if an answer in English will interest you, but here it goes:
Managing and planning is a completely different career from editing.
Handling people and telling stories are completely different skills. You can be good at both, but I hardly believe you would be happy the same way at each job.
I have worked as a producer and a video editor and am great at both, but when I was managing people, I looked at the editing program and would crave it so badly! I would jump at any opportunity of using it. So I think you`ll find out really fast what you really want.
About the job as YouTube editor, yes, it will help you migrate to dramas in the future, as editing languages do differ from different mediums, but still, telling stories take a lot of practice and I would start as soon as possible if I were you, at any opportunity. It is worth the try, to always look for a more fulfilling career. If it doesn`t satisfy you, you can always go back. Don`t close any doors on your way out.2023-06-05 작성
