Economics and Business Teacher (UK Curriculum)

This is a full-time on-site role for an Economics and Business Teacher. The Economics and Business Teacher will be responsible for delivering lessons, planning and preparing curriculum, and providing education in the field of economics and business. The role involves teaching A-level and BTEC courses.

You do not need to be a qualified teacher, nor have teaching experience, but you should have the attributes of an effective teacher including leadership, organisation, resilience and self reflection
Key Responsibilities
- - Delivery of Economics and Business classes
- - Administration of mock examinations for students
- - Support students with UCAS applications including personal - statement support and reference writing
- - Assisting with other administrative duties as they arise
- - Helping to support wider activities to develop student’s - English proficiency. This may include a few hours a week of - IELTS speaking practice classes.
- - Supporting the school in marketing and outreach activities - such as appearing in content for YouTube or local blogs
About the position
- - Location: Kyodae 교대역, Seoul, South Korea. Gangnam is the central financial district in Seoul.
- - Hours: Full Time Mon to Fri 9am to 6pm (20-30 hours teaching/week)
- - Accomodation: We prefer applicants with their own housing, but the school can assist with housing if required
- - Vacation allowance: 15 days + Korean national holidays
- - Salary: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience after review of CV and interview. We also offer up to 10% annual raises for performance and further opportunities to take on additional administrative responsibilities with accompanying additional remuneration
- - Severance payment: of one additional month payment for each 12 months worked
- - Insurance: Pension and medical insurance 50% matched by employer
- - Students: Koreans aged 17 to 20, looking to access UK universities. The level of their English is typically very high and all courses are taught in English.
- - Colleagues: We have a team of 7 British teachers who are professional and friendly. We have a great community and help each other. In addition, administration is operated by both Korean and British individuals.
