Position - Process Engineer


The purpose of this role is to review process engineering design for the Nexeon NSP-2 commercial facility plus support of construction and startup of the facility. Duties will include development of operating procedures and training of operations personnel. Once facility startup has been completed, supporting daily operations and process optimization will become the primary responsibilities.

 

· Commercial Process Development

o    Technical leadership role

o    Lead scaling of the design from pilot facility to commercial facility

o    Develop/deliver H&MB, process description, process control narrative, safety & interlock narrative, block diagrams, process flow diagrams, environmental emission calculation/determination

o    Support engineering design effort for commercial facilities

o    Support construction, commissioning, testing, and startup of commercial facilities

o    Support development of operating procedures and training of operations personnel

· Manufacturing Support (SQDC)

o    Compliance with design conditions and process of record

o    Production of material in compliance with product specifications

o    Quality of material produced

o    Delivery to customer expectations

o    Optimization of process for:

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

· SQDC = Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost of material produced

· Driving continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes to facilitate maximum output of product with consistent quality to our customers.

· Implementation of LEAN manufacturing processes

· Ensure that all aspects of our processing operations meet regulatory requirements.  Assuming responsibility for risk assessment, health, environmental & safety requirements.

· Improve production processes.

· Implement projects to maintain and improve production capacity and quality

· Ensure that Nexeon’s confidential information and intellectual property is protected at all times.

 

Knowledge and experience

· 3~10 years working in multiple chemical operating and engineering environments

· Fluency in written and spoken Hangul (Korean) and English language

· Must be legally authorized to work in South Korea without company sponsorship now or in the future.

· Working knowledge of valves, pumps, compressors, filters, receivers, seals, agitators and other industrial equipment and the application of them to varying process conditions.

· Strong knowledge and experience in chemical processing, broad experience in chemical facility unit operations, deep process engineering skill set

· Demonstrated experience in the Process development and scale-up

· Experience participating and leading hazard assessments and role modelling safe behaviours

· Operation and Development of commercial scale production

· In depth understanding of chemical process industries, materials manufacturing

· Working on collaborative projects in fast acting and results driven environment

· Ability to work as part of project team or alone

· Ability to work to agreed project programme, i.e. project deliverables on time

· Able to assimilate and disseminate technical information in timely manner

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Microsoft Office (good working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

· Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field of study

· Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.

· Demonstrated ability and experience to interface with third party solution providers or technology providers

· Knowledge and experience in solid-liquid systems, rheology, separation processes, heat and mass transfer processes, handling hazardous materials, distillation, cryogenic liquefaction, application of valve technologies, application of fluid transfer technologies, powder handling  pneumatic transport, powder explosivity, pyrophoric materials, storage of volatile materials, chemical vapor deposition, chemical vapor infiltration, spray drying, furnaces, kilns, rotating kilns, and filtration systems
