What You Will Do:

• Lead research and assess the maturity of new technologies in a wide range of intelligent systems topics with the focus on:
  • Application of AI for marine and offshore
  • Smart and Intelligent Ship systems
  • Ship autonomous systems 
  • Future ship concepts
  • Digital twin of ship and offshore systems
  • Smart technologies for shipyards.
• Develop guidance and classification requirements for the marine and offshore industry on the application of new technology.
• Support ABS technical community on queries regarding intelligent systems.
• Maintain and demonstrate thought leadership through technical publications, conference presentations and panel discussions.
• Participate in industrial committees to development and enhance technical capabilities.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, and other relevant disciplines; Masters or PhD in appropriate discipline preferred  
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, offshore energy company, university, or classification society

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience of marine intelligent systems such as collision detection and collision avoidance, smart power/energy/battery management systems, and other autonomous functions/operations
• Knowledge and experience of Artificial Intelligence and its application in marine and offshore industry 
• Marine and offshore industry experience.
• Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills in English
