Translation Coordinator 

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Translation Coordination Team Leader in Korea, and as an integral part of Questel’s Operations - Translation Services Team, this role is responsible for the planning, scheduling, tracking, and delivery of the language translation phase of projects in the project management cycle.  Working with project managers, this role works to understand client business objectives and spearheads planning and execution internally to ensure Questel services are delivered on time and with the utmost quality. 


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

            ·         Accept projects from project managers

·         Assign projects to vendors or internal resources via SAVANTA

·         Track project status

·         Deliver projects to the File Formatting Team

·         Send linguistic questions to project managers or linguistic teams

·         Process purchase orders in SAVANTA

·         Consult with other Translation Coordinators on questions about projects and send them to project managers

·         Coordinate with other Questel teams

·         Process feedback to in-house linguists, vendors, and/or from filing agents

·         Work on special projects and other duties as assignment by management

Education and Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.  Professional translation experience or other similar language industry experience preferred, but not required.  In addition, any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

            ·         Working knowledge of SAVANTA, Trados, and other applications

·         Working knowledge of profitability of projects to meet monthly revenue goals

·         Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

·         Willingness to occasionally manage and deliver projects during non-standard hours

·         Outstanding planning, scheduling, and coordination skills

·         Highly motivated with a willingness to take initiative and complete assignments

·         Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision and regularly report on progress

·         Quick learner with the ability to multi-task in occasionally stressful situations

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, regression analysis, etc.) a plus

·         Good time management skills and ability to complete a heavy workload within an established time frame

·         Participate in a culture of responsiveness to strengthen relationships and ensure the needs and time of others are met and respected

·         Fluent in English

·         Fluency in a second language, other than English, a plus
