*Objective of the Position:
- Act as an interface between customers in Korea and BASF internal R&D teams as well as a key relationship builder within the battery materials industry to identify, develop and benchmark new applications / technologies opportunities. - Enhance customer proximity to ensure appropriate technical information flow between customer and BASF to drive development of the competitive product technology platforms. - The role serves as a main point of contact for the battery materials technology topics in Korea region as well as ASEAN countries and has to act and connect in the BASF Asia-Pacific as well as global battery materials business organization.
*Main Tasks: Technical Account Management - Provide technical consulting to customers in Korea in selecting the right CAM for their application in close dialogue with the corresponding Commercial Account Manager and the Product Development / R&D teams - Initiate, lead, and steer customer specific R&D projects in alignment with Regional Marketing and Sales teams as well as Global R&D and Innovation Management teams - Coordinating ASEAN customers technical support together with Reginal Manager / Reginal Sales and RD teams - Support launch of new products and troubleshooting at customer - Provide the technical input to the quotation / RfQ incl. product specifications, warranties, application window in alignment with Regional Sales / Product Management / Marketing teams - Develop value proposition together with Regional Sales / Product Management / Marketing teams - Collect market/customer driven ideas for new projects/products as well as market/customer/competitive related technology and provide them to internal global R&D teams - Develop and manage network with Korean battery cell producers and technology companies - Manage product quality issues within the non-conformance management system
Technical Intellectual Property (IP) Management - Act as technical expert and support Global Innovation and IP Management team of BASF battery materials by serving as consultant to review, evaluate, assess, and compile existing and new IP of BASF and third parties - Support strengthening the focus of BASF IP portfolio based on market needs
*Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position:
- You have successfully completed your bachelor or master degrees in a technical field such as chemistry/chemical engineering or received any similar education - Extensive relevant work experiences in Lithium-ion batteries and customer facing experience in Lithium-ion battery are highly preferred. - Possess entrepreneurial drive, thrive in ambiguity / agile, can anticipate and move on market opportunities in unstable environments. - Strong ability to listen, influence and possess strong collaborative leadership skills to align a vast array of internal and external interfaces. - Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment is a plus. - Skilled at both written and oral communication in English and can connect with a variety of audiences (internal / external / large / small, all levels) - You are willing to business travel (up to 30%) with focus on Korea, but also within the Asia-Pacific region
