Position Summary:

-The Operations Director position exists to ensure the safe, efficient, guest-focused operation of all park rides, attractions, entertainment, events and entry operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that our guests experience the park’s attractions in complete safety and comfort, while enjoying friendly and helpful service from all staff members. This role is expected to drive the Operations department toward reaching the highest level of operational safety whilst maintaining efficiency targets minimizing our guest’s waiting time in queues and keeping the parks public areas and washroom facilities in the exacting standards that we and our guests would expect. In addition, the Operations Director will lead operation efficiency in manning, organization structure and experience per guest management. Therefore, the Operations Director will be a key contributor in finding ways to effectively budget OPEX while maintaining the targeted guest satisfaction and NPS scores.




Key Objectives:

-The Operations Director is expected to exemplify what a leader in the Merlin organization is, through example and through practice. The job holder is expected to be one of the most visible and influential leaders in the Resort, and the main driver of ride safety and efficiency. This position is designed to help make LEGOLAND Korea Resort one of the safest, cleanest and guest friendly Resorts in the world.




Scope and Responsibilities:

-Ensure an industry leading level of safety within the ride operation at the park.

-Achieve relevant targets on both Touch Screens and Exit Surveys, as set out at the beginning of each season.

-Achieve relevant targets surrounding ridership and operational efficiency, as set out at the beginning of each season.

-Manage the Park Operations labor and expense budgets efficiently, and not incur any unauthorized overspends at any point during any season.

-To report to the Divisional Director, a conclusive weekly update of the Operations Department performance to date.

-Bring both creativity and innovation to the role, ensuring that the Resort adapts to changes in the industry and its relevant targets with regard to Staff Engagement surveys.

-To be a leader in the setup and operational delivery of key events including Halloween, Christmas, Fireworks and other seasonal products.




Background and Experience:

-Experience in a theme park, hotel, resort, attraction, or entertainment a plus.

-At least 10 years in operational leadership roles

-Understanding of Ride Operations Health & Safety

-Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional peers.

-Demonstrated ability to manage a large volume of work and people effectively and efficiently.

-Language: Verbal and written English communications, Korean Language proficiency needed




Education:

-University Qualifications




Work Environment:

-Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.

-Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions




Other Requirements:

-Maintaining confidentiality within the organization and protect any information that classified as confidential.

-Maintaining honesty and integrity with superior, subordinates and guests

-Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations.

-Requires a valid driver’s license and passport.

-Must be willing to travel locally and regionally to conduct business, and occasional travel within Korea.




Health & Safety:

-All personnel are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their location, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, as the ‘Responsible Person’ (see the HS001 for definition) they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
