The hours are M/W 8:00 to 10:30 and T/TH 13:00 to 15:20. Work dates: ASAP to 5 July 2024 (possibility to extend, increase hours for the right candidate) Student ages are 11 to 18. Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons in accordance with the UK National Curriculum, focusing on developing students` physical skills, fitness levels, and knowledge of sports and activities.
- Design and implement a varied and progressive curriculum that caters to the diverse needs and abilities of students, incorporating a range of sports, games, and fitness activities.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment where all students feel encouraged to participate and strive for personal improvement, regardless of their level of athletic ability.
- Assess student progress and attainment in PE through assessments and observations, providing constructive feedback and support for their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular links and integrate PE with other subjects, such as science (e.g., anatomy and physiology) and mathematics (e.g., data analysis in sports).
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, communicating regularly and proactively to support students` overall well-being and academic success.
Qualifications: - English speaking ability
- Experience teaching PE at the secondary level
- Understanding of the UK National Curriculum for PE - preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students to participate in physical activity and adopt healthy lifestyles.
- Knowledge of a wide range of sports and activities, as well as principles of fitness training, injury prevention, and sports psychology.
