Roles and Responsibilities:

ㆍDevelop new user-facing features

  • ㆍBuild reusable code and libraries for future use
  • ㆍEnsure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • ㆍOptimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • ㆍAssure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • ㆍCollaborate with other team members and stakeholders



Qualifications:

ㆍProficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3

  • ㆍBasic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • ㆍProficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, specifically React and Next.js


Note: Every front-end developer is expected to have a proficient knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, while most front-end developers should know React.


  • ㆍGood understanding of React and Next.js
  • ㆍGood understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and other features of modern browsers.
  • ㆍBasic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Figma and Photoshop is a plus.


Note: A UI/UX designer is normally expected to deliver finished resources for the developer to incorporate into the app. However, quite often a front-end web developer needs to make some small adjustments or will be responsible to make straightforward decisions on design while developing.


  • ㆍProficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • ㆍProficient understanding of code versioning tools, specifically Git.
  • ㆍGood understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.


Preferred Qualifications:

ㆍBachelor degree in Computer Science

ㆍ3-5 years of software engineering experience 

ㆍNative English with Korean proficiency or native Korean with English proficiency
