Position level and Salary: Locally Engaged 4 level with a salary of KRW 55,605,684 per annum

Employment period: This is a permanent position. The successful applicant will be engaged initially on a 12 month fixed-term

                                    contract, with extension subject to performance.

                                    This includes a 3-month probation period.

Other Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to provide a police security clearance certificate and undergo a medical examination to

determine fitness for duty.


Key Responsibilities

    ·  Investigate, analyse and manage visit authorisation requests in accordance with departmental guidelines.

    ·  Coordinate with the Defence A-based to support any military visits or VVIP visits, such as coordinating office calls, transport discussions between Ministry of National Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies to secure the VVIP visit facilitation required.

    ·  Monitor, manage and coordinate protocol and logistical support arrangements in consultation with local authorities and within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs guidelines - including obtaining diplomatic clearances for visiting Australian ships and aircrafts and airport protocol assistance.

    ·  Review, coordinate and undertake assessments of Australian official visit requests and data including developing visit programs in accordance with departmental guidelines and liaison with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

    ·  Manage moderately complex enquiries and provide on the ground assistance, information and advice to all Defence officials regarding procedures and critical information required for processing visit requests.

    ·  Cultivate and strengthen productive networks and relationships with a range of key stakeholders including Republic of Korea officials, government agencies and service providers to produce positive outcomes for the Australian Government during high-level visits. 

    ·  Interpret Korean and English for high-level official meetings and visits for Defence Officials, including for briefing papers and complex military documentation.

    ·  Manage a range of administrative functions to support official delegations and exercise augmentees, including coordinating accommodation bookings, transport arrangements, and venue and hospitality coordination.

    ·  Assist in the assessment, development and implementation of new and innovative operating processes including preparing policy documents, correspondence and operating procedures in support of visits.

    ·  Perform other duties as directed.



Position Requirements  

Competencies

    ·  High level written and spoken Korean and English communication skills.

    ·  Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with senior Defence officers and other internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

    ·  Demonstrated problem solving skills and initiative, including the ability to manage conflicting priorities, and achieve work goals under pressure and with limited supervision.

    ·  The ability to work efficiently and effectively as a member of a small team, including proven initiative, cooperation, flexibility and reliability.

    ·  Highly effective administrative skills and experience.

    ·  Computer literacy and experience using the Microsoft Office suite of applications and other IT devices.
