(재)심장혈관연구재단은 보건복지부 산하 비영리 재단으로써, 의학 부분의 심혈관과 관련하여 매년 세계적 규모의 국제학술회의를 개최하고 있으며, 대규모 연구 지원 사업과 국내외 유명 병원, 대학과 연계하여 심혈관 분야의 연구도 수행하고 있습니다.

이에 심장 혈관 질환 및 심장 혈관 중재 시술에 관한 국내외 학술 교류를 통하여 심장 질환의 치료 의학 및 연구 수준을 세계적인 수준으로 높이고 심장 질환의 기초 연구 및 다기관 임상 연구, 교육 프로그램, 국가 의료 정책 개발 등을 적극적으로 지원 육성함으로써 대국민 보건 향상에 기여함을 목적으로 합니다.



1. 연구
심혈관 연구재단은 윤리성 및 공정성의 국제 기준을 충족하는 선진적 임상 연구를 임상 연구 조정센터(Clinical Research Coordinating Center)와 실용화 연구(Translational Research) 프로그램을 통해 기획하고 지원하고 있습니다. 지식이 실제 임상에 최대한 활용되기 위해서는 체계적인 임상 연구 단계가 필수적이며 조직적인 협력 체계도 반드시 필요합니다. 이를 위해 본 재단은 연구자들이 임상 연구를 시행할 수 있는 최적의 환경을 제공하기 위해 항상 노력하고 있습니다.

2. 교육
Angioplasty Summit - TCT Asia Pacific은 본 연구재단이 미국의 TCT (Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics)와 협력하여 매년 개최하는 대규모 국제 학술대회입니다. 본 학술대회는 모의 시술(simulation) 강좌뿐 아니라, 전세계 심장 센터로부터 위성TV를 이용한 생중계 시연(live demonstration) 과정을 제공하여 참석자들이 실제적인 경험을 통해 자신의 술기를 향상시킬 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 하고 있습니다. 본 연구재단은 www.summitMD.com이라는 웹사이트를 통해 100여 개가 넘는 증례들을 주제별로 분류하여 심혈관계 질환의 중재시술적 치료 방법에 대한 유익한 정보와 시연과정을 제공하고 있다. 본 연구재단은 세계 유수의 심장 센터들 및 서울아산병원 심장내과와 협력관계를 맺고 전문의 연수 프로그램(fellowship training program)을 운영하고 있다. 여기에는 심장질환의 중재시술적 치료에 대한 지식과 술기를 몸소 체험하면서 배울 수 있는 단기 및 장기 연수 프로그램이 제공되고 있습니다.

3. 진료
서울아산병원 중재시술팀과 협력관계를 맺고 있는 본 연구재단의 임상 연구자들은 심혈관계 의학에서 가장 혁신적이며 최첨단의 임상 시험을 수행하는 선두 주자들입니다. 본 연구재단의 임상의사들은 이러한 임상 시험에서 얻은 최신 기술을 통하여 다른 치료 방법이 없는 난치성 심장병 환자들에게 제공할 수 있는 치료의 영역을 넓혀가고 있습니다.

CVRF aims to provide promising treatment to improve the quality of life for patients with cardiovascular disease and bridge the gap between the laboratory and the bedside.

Since its formation in 2002, we have focused on finding the most practical way to bring the lab closer to the patient’s care in the ongoing clinical researches based on global understanding. In close collaboration with renowned international centers from East and West, CVRF has played an integral leading role in coordinating and conducting international clinical trials by the foundation’s outstanding investigators. By independent analysis of numerous data and database management, we make the swift and decisive progress of developing the insights into risks and outcomes for patients after interventional procedures that makes ultimately important contribution to the area of interventional cardiovascular medicine.

As an aspect of educating physicians and health care professionals, we also accomplish several international meetings each year, and produce a vast array of educational materials published in scientific book chapters, medical journal articles and educational abstracts as well as on our official website. Our clinical training programs are recognized internationally with the highest commendation and they provide an invaluable opportunity to work closely with leading interventional cardiologists.

To march ahead into the brighter future, we will continue to work smarter and harder in the direction that long experience suggests where it will lead to the best payoff in terms of better patient care.
